Woman in Nottingham refused IVF was this right?
On the news this morning was a report about a woman whos has been refused a second course of IVF treatment. She had previously had this treatment and had both conceived and gave birth to a baby, the issue is that unfortunately the baby died! The Primary Care Trust considered her application for more IVF Treatment however they refused as the conditions for IVF state that if you conceive and go on to have a live birth you are ineligible for anymore treatments. However is this fair? It was no ones fault that her baby died just a tragic quirk of fate, On the other hand do any of us have a right to have this treatment irrespective of circumstances or consequences, Nature surely decides those that have the means to reproduce, not through favouritism, Postcode lotteries or comes to that whether we are suitable or responsible parents or citizens.Surely the bottom line has to be nature made us who we are, man learnt how to intervene and even things out but ultimately we still have no RIGHT to have children just a capability.
